Our dear mother Dorothy Jean Harber sadly passed away on Thursday June 9, 2022, at the age of eighty-seven. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her with words of wisdom and support. She was born to the late Ezra and Ida B. Hampton on January 10, 1935, in Blytheville, Arkansas. Dorothy graduated from Stanton High School in 1951 and remained an active member of the alumni association, the Harrisonites.
Dorothy gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined the Hartford Memorial Baptist Church where she maintained her membership for over sixty-five years. Dorothy was a homemaker who enjoyed planting beautiful flowers, fishing on Lake Erie, reading books, and listening to music.
She was married to the Late Eddie Lee Harber, and they lived together in Detroit for almost thirty years.
Dorothy Jean Harber is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her oldest sister Ida Mae Johnson, four brothers Ezra, Leotha, Henry, and Noah Hampton. Dorothy is survived by her youngest sister Charlene Weekfall, three children Patricia Murria, Doris Harber-Hollins, and Eddie Lee Harber Jr. four grandchildren, Michelle Murria-Bradfield, Orlando Kincheloe. Regis Murria, and David Hollins survive her; nine great-grandchildren. a great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
