Brother Leonard Officiating
Andrew Gross Washington III affectionately known as "Drew or Man" was born on March 10, 1968, to Andrew Gross II and Daisy Mae Washington in Detroit, MI. which both parents preceded him in death.
Drew gave his life to Jehovah at an early age. Drew was raised in the Detroit and was educated in the Detroit Public School system, He attended Cooley High and graduated from Redford. Drew was known for his love of
Basketball and being the best in the city. Drew took Cooley High to the state championship upon graduating High School.
Drew immediately enrolled in Mont San Jacinto in California and pursued business and basketball he then transferred to San Bernardino to further his education.
After college he pursued a professional career in Audio Engineering. Drew loved and I do mean loved his family! He also enjoyed traveling, date night with his wife Halisha and good food.
Everyone knew just how deep Drew's love was for food (LOL). Drew would call around to see whose meal would be ready first and eat there. And then make it home in time to have dinner with his wife.
We all are blessed and honored to have Drew be apart of our lives. He leaves behind to cherish fond memories of his life, wife: Halisha; two children: daughter: Janira and son: Malek; One stepson: Maurice Beauford (Paula), three grandson: Amari, Kamron, and Maverick; three sisters: Monique (Meyahce), Andrea and Saretta; three brothers: DonJuan, Manuel and Ricky; one sister-in-law: Cheryl (Bruce), Mother-in-law: Della (Milton) and a host of, nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
REMEMBER ME
Speak of me as you have always done.
Remember the good times, laughter, and fun.
Share the happy memories we've made.
Do not let them wither or fade.
I'll be with you in the summer's sun
And when the winter's chill has come.
I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze.
I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease.
I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep,
But memories we've shared are yours to keep.
Sometimes our final days may be a test,
But remember me when I was at my best.
Although things may not be the same,
Don't be afraid to use my name.
Let your sorrow last for just a while.
Comfort each other and try to smile.
I've lived a life filled with joy and fun.
Live on now, make me proud of what you'll become.
Drew I'm forever changed I thought we'd spend the rest of our lives together. Instead, the rest of your life was spent with me. You had a way with words to let me know how much you loved me! You would pinch my cheeks and call me your little biscuit mama. Again, you related me to food LOL your first love. I'm surely going to miss our date nights honey. But I remember you saying death is only a deep sleep. The Father is going to call us out of the memorial tombs and will be joined with our loved ones. I'll be waiting - Your wife Halisha
Dad, I'm so grateful God gave us a change to connect before you left this earth. What I love most about you is your heart. How generous you were to others. Even after everything you've been through nothing took away your joy. I always prayed for you, and I know the Lord has you in a better place now. I'm so proud of you for releasing your first album. It's sounds just as good as it did when you originally recorded it. Your name and voice will be cherished forever. - Love your Daughter Janira
Dad,
I know we had our ups and downs but that was the Alfa male in me trying to find my way and who I was. But the truth is. I love music, high end luxury cars, nice living, and good food. Just like you. You've been a great person to all who knew you and a wonderful dad. - Your son Malek
Andrew "Drew" Gross Washington was a very unique man with a heart of gold. He wore that golden heart on his sleeve. He is amongst the few people on earth to set out and accomplish anything his mind conceived.
He pulled no punches and absolutely let nothing stand in his way. Anytime anyone told him he couldn't do something. He made a way and got it done. He was a dedicated family man, silly at heart yet passionate and resourceful. His memory will forever live on in our hearts. All the laugher and boyish moments of joy when over-coming the temporary challenges and setbacks life would throw at him. Through it all, he found a way to stand strong and win! All he wanted to be enjoy life and ball with you! - Don]uan Gross
You were a great inspiration in my life, you took me under your wings as a lil brother you showed me how to survive through some of ruff times in my life. I wouldn't trade you for the world. You had a heart as big as the world and my big brother you showed a great example. Rest in heaven until I'm up there with you. God bless you. With all love.
- Your brother for life Rick
My Brothers Heart
There are so many wonderful things i want to say about my brother's life. There are so many wonderful thoughts that were spoken from his A to his wife. For the love of Music was the begging of your heartbeat. Now the sound of the drums has laid you down to sleep. In your darkest hour your prayers were made to Jehovah for keeps as he heard all your outcries from within. You took comfort in his words before the great tribulation begins. I will remember the humility you showed by taking refuge in a promise for a New World to come. Yes, I look forward to seeing you again in a World so perfect were there be true Love and no more pain.
Revelation 21:3,4 For the formal things have passed away. - From Your Loving Sister Monique (Meyahce) Young
I can remember the laughs we shared between the two of us, you'll truly be missed, but our memories will live on forever. - Your bonus son Maurice
